About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work on critical projects that enhance the YouTube user experience through personalized notifications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale software solutions, while also influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers. Your work will involve managing project priorities and facilitating alignment across teams to achieve goals and outcomes.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred:
- Experience with infrastructure development and serving platforms (e.g., spanner, flume).
- Experience with data analysis using Google tools (e.g., Colab and PLX).
- Familiarity with modeling and Google/YouTube ML infrastructure (e.g., TensorFlow).
- Ability to improve the notifications experience by enabling timely send opportunities.
