Summary
SoFi is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Protect to join their team in Seattle, WA. The role involves building the next generation Insurance platform and setting technical direction for a critical business function.
About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the development and testing of systems and services, participate in shaping the technical architecture, translate product requirements into user stories, and deliver scalable services in a production environment. You will also mentor other engineers, drive operational excellence, and communicate with project leads and product managers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8+ years programming experience on a modern stack.
- 4+ years Java, Kotlin or other OO programming experience.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and ORMs.
- Experience working on microservice-based applications.
- Experience with GIT and CI/CD systems.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience scaling highly available, mission critical systems.
- Full-stack experience with systems (kafka, temporal, docker), databases (DynamoDB), or front-end (javascript/typescript, react).
- Familiarity with the insurance industry and its specific regulatory requirements.
- Experience incorporating LLMs into user flows.
