Summary
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join their team in Stratford, NY. The role involves leading system engineering for avionics subsystems across the full product lifecycle.
About the Role
As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements into technical solutions, defining software/hardware interfaces, verifying requirements, and integrating safety-critical systems. You will support the design and certification of embedded mission software for modern defense platforms, oversee the development of embedded system requirements, and manage team planning to meet performance, schedule, and cost targets. Additionally, you will create and maintain traceability matrices, lead verification & validation activities, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 9 years of professional systems engineering experience or 7 years with a Master’s degree.
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – Preferably CAMEO.
- Experience with development of software requirements and collaboration with software engineers.
- Experience with design, integration, and test of avionics systems.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with Agile development practices.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Python.
- Current active Secret security clearance.
