Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Analyst III – Fluids & Propulsion for their Lunar Permanence business unit, focusing on the MK2 Crew Lander in the Greater Seattle Area.
About the Role
As a Structural Analyst III, you will support the development and testing of the main engines and supporting hardware for the MK2 Crew Lander. Your responsibilities will include performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), conducting strength checks, and collaborating with design engineers to optimize designs. You will ensure structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle and mentor junior analysts.
About You
Required:
- B.S. in Engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience performing structural analysis on aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicle structures
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic and/or composite structures
- Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods
- Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications
- Experience with analysis codes such as Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel
Preferred:
- Experience performing structural analysis of liquid or gaseous propulsion tubing/systems
- Experience supporting planning and execution of system or vehicle-level testing
- Demonstrated experience with fluid systems and geometry optimization methods
- Experience writing detailed design and analysis reports
- Experience analyzing/dispositioning non-conformances
- Experience with Creo
