Summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Structural Drafter 1 for their Energy & Industrial Group in Chicago, IL. The role involves developing CAD 3D design models of steel structures and concrete foundations to produce 2D drawing deliverables.
About the Role
As a Structural Drafter 1, you will support senior designers by producing structural drawings that meet customer requirements while collaborating with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve design clashes. You will adapt to various technologies in power generation and renewables, and may need to travel to client facilities to verify design conditions.
About You
Required:
- CAD certificate required if non-degreed.
- Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation).
- Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design.
- Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design.
- Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Attention to detail.
- Time management.
Preferred:
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology.
- Previous relevant experience considered.
- Experience with Bentley OpenBuildings Designer.
- Experience with Autodesk Navisworks.
