CoAspire is seeking a Structural Dynamicist (Weapon Systems) to join their team in Manassas, VA. The role involves performing key analytical and modeling tasks to support the development and performance assessment of aerospace weapons systems.
About the Role
As a Structural Dynamicist, you will develop and maintain high fidelity Finite Element Models (FEM) to analyze system structural margins and modal behavior. You will perform structural optimization, review test data, assist in diagnosing performance issues, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure system performance aligns with program requirements.
About You
Required:
5-10 years in structural design, optimization and FEM modeling.
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Proficiency with simulation/modeling environments (e.g., ANSYS, Creo, MATLAB/Simulink, Python).
Ability to interpret engineering requirements and relevant aerospace documentation standards.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and validation.
Understanding of aerospace vehicle modeling and multi-disciplinary system analysis.
U.S. citizenship and ability to meet security or background-screening requirements.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented engineering environment.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
Experience with weapon systems or other aerospace/defense systems analysis.
Exposure to guidance, navigation, and control concepts.
