About the Role
As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for conducting client interviews and assessments, evaluating treatment responses, providing group and individual counseling, and maintaining treatment records. You will also collaborate with clients to develop discharge summaries and coordinate services in crisis situations, all while working in a correctional healthcare setting.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a helping profession from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to obtain Georgia Department of Corrections clearance to work in the correctional institution.
Preferred:
- Previous counseling experience, particularly in substance use disorder or mental health treatment.
- Certification as identified by state within 30 months of starting counseling services.
