HDR is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Pasco, WA. The role involves leading structural engineering tasks for high voltage electrical switchyard and substation projects up to 500kV.
About the Role
As a Substation Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing structural engineering tasks, including the design of steel structures and foundations for substations. You will collaborate with project managers and teams across multiple locations, mentor junior engineers, and ensure quality checks for project deliverables. Your work will contribute to the development of reliable and sustainable power systems.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience related to building design
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
- Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- SE license or ability to obtain preferred, with SE license in Hawaii and California being a plus
- Technical design experience with high voltage electrical switchyard and substation projects up to 500kV
- Familiarity with NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE-113 and other industry standards
- Experience using design software like PLS-Tower and Mathcad Prime
