About the Role
As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while following established lesson plans and classroom routines. Your daily tasks will include supervising children, assisting with daily routines, and promoting positive child development and school readiness. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as you manage the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Willingness to complete Head Start-mandated training and professional development.
Preferred:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) in Infant and Toddler and/or Preschool.
- Associate's degree or coursework in early childhood education (ECE), child development, or related field.
- Previous experience in a Head Start or preschool classroom.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and best practices in early childhood education.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other languages spoken by program families).
