About the Role
As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Supervisor, you will organize, direct, coordinate, and manage the activities of the CDI team. You will serve as a liaison between CDI and other departments, monitor team performance, provide education and support, and assist with personnel-related duties. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with CCHS, JCAHO, and other regulatory bodies, administering corrective actions, and maintaining efficient systems and workflows.
About You
Required:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- Nursing License in State of Ohio (RN) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
- Two years of managerial/supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of medical record technology, statistics and organization.
- Knowledge of supervisory techniques and methods with the ability to train others in CDI concepts.
- Advanced experience with PC applications including Windows, 3M and Epic software programs.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Advanced knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy, physiology and disease process.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or evidence of equivalent competency.
- Three years of experience in a CDI environment.
- Experience in a large healthcare organization.
- Experience supervising teams and ensuring independent productivity.
- Background in CDI processes.
- Familiarity with risk adjustment concepts and processes.
- Understanding of Patient Safety Indicators (PSI) and Hospital-Acquired Conditions (HAC).
