Summary
Job Path NYC is seeking a Supported Employment Counselor to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves managing a caseload of individuals with developmental disabilities to help them maintain and grow in their employment.
About the Role
As a Supported Employment Counselor, you will provide ongoing support to a caseload of ten to fifteen individuals in the employment program. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies for skill building, assisting with job-related issues, fostering positive relationships with coworkers and employers, and maintaining communication with families and support networks. You will also document services provided and participate in team meetings and training.
About You
Required:
- BA degree preferred or a combination of high school diploma and related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with administrative work and record keeping.
- Ability to actively listen and collaborate.
- Computer literacy (Google Workspace, Spreadsheets, Web-based case notes).
Preferred:
- Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members.
- Excellent networking skills.
