About the Role
As a Surgery Scheduler Assistant, you will be responsible for scheduling all surgical appointments, meeting with patients, answering calls, entering demographic information, and providing appointment instructions. You will also obtain surgical authorizations, prepare surgical charts, and maintain communication with surgery schedulers. The role may require travel to satellite offices and involves light physical effort and extensive computer work.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well with people, both internally and externally utilizing both written and verbal means.
- Exceptional skills in keyboard and operating computer systems and must type at least 45 wpm.
- Ability to work in structured environment with diverse workforce.
- Empathetic to patient and staff needs and concerns.
- Attention to detail while demonstrating multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to make quick, accurate and appropriate decisions.
- Treat patients and co-workers with respect.
Preferred:
- Previous ophthalmic technician or medical assistant experience.
