Northwest Healthcare Tucson is seeking a Surgical First Assist PT to join their team in Oro Valley, AZ. The role involves providing support to the surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.
About the Role
As a Surgical First Assist PT, you will assist the surgeon with exposure, visualization, hemostasis, and wound closure during surgeries. You will prepare the operating room, assist the RN and anesthesiologist, and perform various tasks to ensure optimal patient flow and clinic productivity. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining confidentiality, following safety guidelines, and demonstrating flexibility and organization under pressure.
About You
Required:
Completion of high school or equivalent.
Completion of an Allied Health program in a related field with Surgical Assist Program.
Completion of a surgical first assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
2-4 years surgical experience in a clinic and/or hospital setting.
Preferred:
Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program.
2-4 years current operating room scrub and/or assisting experience.
