Summary
PetVet Care Centers is seeking a Surgical Veterinary Assistant to join their team in Newtown, CT. The role involves providing support to veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, ensuring quality care for all patients.
About the Role
As a Surgical Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising, and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and performing clerical and administrative work. You will also assist in surgeries, perform laboratory tests, and maintain accurate medical records while ensuring a compassionate environment for both pets and their owners.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years' experience in a veterinary medicine hospital.
- Hands-on experience in a kennel, boarding facility, farm, hospital, or other related facility that provides animal care.
Preferred:
- Surgical experience including sterilizing instruments, preparing sterile packs, cleaning and prepping operating rooms.
- Vet Tech (VTNE) Certification.
