About the Role
As a Swim Instructor, you will prepare and follow lesson plans, maintain a safe instructional environment, communicate with participants, and perform rescues and emergency procedures. You will also engage in public relations with participants and adhere to safety regulations and YMCA policies.
About You
Required:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Proficient in the water as determined by passing a swim test.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of swimming techniques and practices.
- Experience with active listening techniques and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with groups and/or individuals from different backgrounds.
- Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification.
- Current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
