Amentum is seeking a System Engineer EVA Tools to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves participating in trade studies, developing requirements documents, and coordinating with Artemis system management teams for NASA's deep space exploration initiatives.
About the Role
As a System Engineer EVA Tools, you will participate in trade studies and analyses that influence the design and performance of hardware for exploration and sample curation during Lunar excursions. Your responsibilities will include performing requirements decomposition, developing verification and validation plans, creating interface control documents, and reviewing program documentation. You will work in a team environment, reporting to the team lead on progress and issues.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience with the development of requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.
- Experience with the design, assembly, testing, verification, and operation of hardware.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, material selection, and design of software and tools.
- Ability to prepare written documents and present verbally at meetings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and two (2) years of direct engineering experience.
- Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience with development of EVA hardware.
- Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques.
