Summary
MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their Integrated Missile Defense Technology Group in Huntsville, AL. The role involves contributing to the development, deployment, testing, and enhancement of the Missile Defense System (MDS) to defend against ballistic missile attacks.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for evolving missile defense architectures and MDS components, supporting test range operations, and conducting technical analyses. Your tasks will include systems architecture development, performance assessment based on test data, mission planning, and representing MIT LL to the sponsor community. You will need to collaborate with a research team and communicate technical concepts effectively.
About You
Required:
- MS degree in physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, systems engineering, or a related field; or a BS degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Currently located in or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Preferred:
- Experience with physical modeling/digital twins.
- Knowledge of infrared signature prediction and EOIR sensor experience.
- Experience in radar signature prediction and radar sensor operations.
- Mission planning for test events.
- Proficiency in algorithm development, implementation, testing, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with high-level prototyping software languages (e.g., MATLAB).
- Experience with data reduction and exploitation.
- Understanding of remote sensor architectures and operations.
