About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing or modifying curricula and preparing lessons tailored to student ability levels. You will collaborate with students, parents, and staff to create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and implement instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of your students. Your duties will include conducting assessments, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area.
- Familiarity with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and IEP goal setting.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Benefits
