Summary
Serac is seeking a Technical Buyer to join their team in Carol Stream, IL. The role involves supporting manufacturing operations through timely and cost-effective procurement of mechanical, electronic, and fabricated components.
About the Role
As a Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring parts according to MRP demand and production schedules, managing purchase orders from placement through delivery, requesting quotes, negotiating pricing and terms, reading basic CAD drawings, and working with both domestic and international suppliers. You will also support supplier KPIs related to delivery, quality, and cost.
About You
Required:
- Associate's Degree with 2–4 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing OR 5–7 years equivalent experience.
- ERP/MRP experience (QAD preferred, others welcome).
- Ability to read basic 2D/3D drawings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Mechanical, electrical, or fabricated parts sourcing.
- Global or overseas supplier exposure.
