About the Role
As a TEMPORARY Roving Invasive Species Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting boats for invasive species, providing public outreach, and performing various tasks related to watercraft inspection and decontamination. You will work independently or in pairs, and may need to travel extensively, including overnight stays. The position requires flexibility in scheduling due to weather conditions and may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
About You
Required:
- Excellent driving record and ability to travel extensively with overnight stays.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, early morning and late evenings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and timely with excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Preferred:
- Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment.
- Ability to travel and be away from home every week, if needed.
- Excellent customer service skills and/or experience working with the public.
- Experience with Microsoft and Google applications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or higher education.
