Summary
Gulf Copper LLC is seeking a Test and Verification Manager to join their team in Galveston, TX. The role involves planning, managing, and executing all test and evaluation activities for Arctic-capable vessels under a government contract.
About the Role
As a Test and Verification Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Integrated Test Plan, managing the Master Test Schedule, and ensuring compliance with various standards during testing. You will oversee test events across ship systems, lead readiness reviews, and serve as the primary interface with government stakeholders. Your role will also include preparing detailed test reports and managing deficiencies, while collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless test execution.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Marine Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of test management, systems integration, commissioning, or trials experience within maritime, defense, aerospace, or government-regulated programs.
- Experience working on U.S. government contracts and familiarity with CDRLs, DIDs, and formal acceptance processes.
- Strong understanding of shipboard or mission system operations, systems engineering practices, and structured test and evaluation processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate complex test activities, and interface effectively with government customers.
Preferred:
- Experience with USCG or Navy shipbuilding, defense maritime programs, or Arctic-capable vessels.
- Knowledge of ABS, USCG, SOLAS, IMO Polar Code, MIL-STD test requirements, and maritime classification rules.
- Familiarity with propulsion systems, electrical distribution, mechanical systems, or C4/mission systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
