Summary
The Center for Autism is seeking a Therapist - Child First to serve as the primary therapist and team leader for children and families in the Child First program, providing community-based mental health services in Philadelphia, PA.
About the Role
The Therapist will develop and implement interventions using the Child First Clinical Model and evidence-based approaches, provide family and individual treatment, collaborate with various systems impacting the family, conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, maintain documentation, provide crisis intervention 24/7, participate in supervision and training, ensure compliance with policies, and contribute to team and community partnerships.
About You
Required:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related field.
- 2-3 years of psychotherapeutic experience with culturally diverse children and families, including parent-child therapeutic work and play therapy with children aged 0-5 years.
- Clinical license or license-eligible (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, psychologist).
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with current registration, and auto insurance.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of CASSP Principles, cognitive-behavioral theory, family systems theory, DSM-V, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed practices.
- Experience providing mental health assessment and consultation to early care and education sites.
- Experience working with adults with mental health, substance use, and cognitive challenges.
Preferred:
- Experience with relationship-based, psychodynamic intervention and early child development.
- Knowledge of parent-child relationships and attachment theory.
- Understanding of effects of trauma and environmental risks on early childhood brain development.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Open to learning and participation in reflective clinical supervision.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
