Personnel Board of Jefferson County is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to join their team in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area. The role involves the installation and repair of traffic signals, intersections, street lights, and street signs, as well as performing preventative maintenance on traffic control devices.
About the Role
As a Traffic Control Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting traffic signals and intersections, performing preventative maintenance, and participating in the installation of traffic control devices. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Traffic Control Technician, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
About You
Required:
Driver's license (Must be able to acquire a Class B CDL within the first six months of employment).
Coursework in Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) fundamentals, and other related electrical/electronic courses.
Work experience reading and interpreting electrical or electronic schematics and blueprints.
Work experience in electrical and electronics troubleshooting.
Preferred:
International Municipal Sign Association (IMSA) Traffic Control Technician Level One certification or higher.
Journeyman's Electrician License.
Associate's degree or higher in Electronics or a related field.
