Summary
HDR is seeking a Transportation Geotechnical Business Class Leader to provide national leadership in deep foundation design and construction, focusing on the south-east US geotechnical community. The role involves representing HDR's geotechnical engineering capabilities to clients and supporting strategic growth.
About the Role
Lead HDR's geotechnical practice to ensure technical excellence and innovative service delivery; coordinate and improve technical competencies of geotechnical staff; engage in deep foundation design and construction projects; select, train, mentor, and manage geotechnical personnel; promote geotechnical practice and establish partnerships; contribute to quality assurance and best practices; participate in strategic planning; manage projects and develop marketing plans; collaborate with HDR leadership to align strategies; facilitate national training programs as an NHI certified instructor.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Professional, Architecture, Engineering or related field
- 10 years of related experience
- Professional or Engineering registration with related technical experience
- Experience in development and management of diverse teams
- Ability to work cooperatively with business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers
- Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values
- Active participation in employee-owned culture
Preferred:
- Active or ability to obtain PE registration in AL, FL, MS, SC, and TN within 6 months
- Master of Science or higher in Geotechnical/Geologic Engineering or equivalent experience
- 15+ years progressive experience leading geotechnical design for public and private clients
- Proficiency in deep foundation construction and construction claim mitigation
- Demonstrated ability in geotechnical investigations and analyses for foundations, embankments, slopes, excavation support, and retaining structures
- Strong knowledge of rock and soil mechanics with ability to provide advanced concept solutions
- Experience with geotechnical engineering software for static, dynamic, and seismic foundation design including numerical modeling
