About the Role
As a Transportation Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on vehicles, servicing them with fuel, oil, grease, and hydraulic fluids, and ensuring proper fluid levels. You will also drive vehicles to respond to emergency road calls, assist in preparing buses to meet safety requirements, and operate various maintenance equipment. The position requires working from verbal and written instructions and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
About You
Required:
- Graduation from high school and two years of experience in vehicle maintenance service.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, terminology, principles, practices, procedures, and equipment used in vehicle maintenance.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License issued by the State of Indiana, or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of school buses and trucks.
- Familiarity with safety regulations for school transportation.
