About the Role
As a Tribal Law Attorney, you will be responsible for offering comprehensive legal advice to tribal governments and their entities on issues such as governance, economic development, housing, education, and healthcare. You will draft and negotiate legal documents, represent clients in court, and conduct legal research on tribal and federal Indian law. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining professional integrity.
About You
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and ability to gain admission to tribal court bars.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, focusing on tribal law and federal Indian law.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indian law, federal Indian policy, and tribal government operations.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
Preferred:
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to resolve complex legal issues.
- Outstanding communication skills for effective interaction with clients and court personnel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
