The Hartford is seeking an Underwriter, Energy Casualty to join their team in Chicago, IL. The role involves underwriting and actively pursuing new business pricing while servicing the needs of brokerage partners.
About the Role
As an Underwriter for Energy Casualty at The Hartford, you will be responsible for analyzing agency books, coaching junior underwriters, managing higher volume accounts, and executing strategies for new and renewal accounts. You will also establish and maintain sales pipelines, consult with agents on coverage questions, and ensure excellent account management service.
About You
Required:
5+ years of commercial underwriting experience.
Experience underwriting General Liability and Umbrella preferred.
Preferred:
Prior experience underwriting energy casualty operations (upstream & midstream oil & gas, renewables, alternative energy and/or mining).
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.
