UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician for their Presbyterian MICU in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time position involves providing high-quality patient care and support under the direction of nurses and physicians.

About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician, you will be responsible for routine patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring vital signs, performing simple dressings, and collecting specimens. You will work in a team environment, ensuring the highest quality of patient care is maintained at all times. The role requires working 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, and participation in a mandatory 3-day training course for non-experienced candidates.

About You

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant or EIC training program or UPMC patient care technician class.
1 year of healthcare experience, OR completion of at least one clinical rotation as part of a nursing or PT/OT/PA program or related health care training, OR completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences field.

Preferred:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
