About the Role
As a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician II, you will be responsible for operating main engines, generators, pumps, A/C units, and hydraulic systems while underway. Your duties will include performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, generators, hydraulics, and all State-issued equipment, as well as instructing scientific parties in the safe operation of winches and managing spare parts inventory.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma and two (2) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Preferred:
- Sea-going experience and good command of commercial fishing and scientific collecting gear.
- Working knowledge of diesel engine operation, shipboard operations, electric generators, hydraulic systems, electric motors, and pumps.
