About the Role
As a Veterans Benefits Counselor, you will conduct interviews, counsel clients on veteran-related benefits, assist with form completion, monitor claims, and participate in community outreach activities. You will also engage in continuous learning and improvement to enhance your skills and knowledge in veteran services.
About You
Required:
- Ability to obtain accreditation by the Veterans Administration (VA) within six months of hire.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of interviewing/counseling techniques and community resources for veteran referrals.
Preferred:
- Experience working with disabled and disadvantaged veterans.
- Familiarity with Title 38 U.S.C. and Veterans Administration regulations.
