Orange County Government is seeking a Veterans Service Officer I to assist veterans, dependents, and survivors in accessing federal, state, and local benefits in Orlando, FL.
About the Role
As a Veterans Service Officer I, you will be responsible for interpreting VA laws and regulations, conducting interviews to assess eligibility for benefits, preparing and submitting claims, and maintaining accurate case documentation. You will work independently under supervision, participate in training for accreditation, and support outreach activities to advocate for the veteran community.
About You
Required:
- Two-year degree from an accredited university, college, or community college, or a high school degree with four years of administrative experience.
- Must have honorably served in the active component of the United States Armed Forces and provide a valid DD214.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of veteran benefits and experience conducting interviews or assessments.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems.
