Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Visiting Professor of Arts Administration and Online Master's Program Director to join the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) team. The role involves leading the development of a new fully-online Master of Arts in Arts Administration program.
About the Role
As the Visiting Professor of Arts Administration, you will serve as the founding academic leader for the new online Master's program. Your responsibilities will include developing and assessing the online curriculum, teaching graduate-level courses, mentoring students and adjunct faculty, and building partnerships with arts organizations. You will also engage in scholarly activities related to arts administration and collaborate with university leadership to align the program with institutional goals.
About You
Required:
- A terminal degree (PhD, DFA, EdD or MFA) in Arts Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) academic years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably in online or hybrid formats.
- A record of leadership in arts administration, cultural management, or nonprofit arts sectors.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching and program development.
Preferred:
- Experience launching or leading new academic programs, especially in online modalities.
- Knowledge of online pedagogy, instructional design, and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
- Evidence of research, publication, or creative work in arts administration or cultural leadership.
- National/International visibility and connections to arts and culture professionals.
