About the Role
As the VP, Commercial Credit Underwriting Team Lead, you will lead and guide underwriting work for commercial real estate (CRE), commercial and industrial (C&I), and Small Business Administration (SBA) transactions. Your responsibilities will include managing the underwriting pipeline, reviewing analyses and risk ratings, ensuring compliance with bank policies, and providing coaching to junior underwriters. You will also participate in credit committee discussions and maintain awareness of market trends.
About You
Required:
- 7–10+ years of commercial credit experience, with strong CRE and C&I background.
- Bachelor's degree required; formal credit training strongly preferred.
Preferred:
- Prior team lead, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
- Solid underwriting skills across deal types and borrower profiles.
- Familiarity with SBA SOP.
