Bluefors is seeking a Welder I to join their team in Syracuse, NY. The role involves performing various welding functions, primarily TIG welding, for the Compressor Assembly department and the Machine Shop.
About the Role
As a Welder I, you will be responsible for performing helium tight welds on pressure vessels and sub-assemblies, using various welding techniques unique to Bluefors. You will assist with the preparation and inventory of materials, maintain cleanliness in work areas, and adhere to quality and safety standards. This position requires maintaining appropriate records and performing other assigned duties.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma/GED with one year of TIG welding experience or a one-year certificate from a college or technical school and/or six months of experience in TIG welding.
- Basic knowledge of welding procedures, practices, and techniques required to TIG weld.
Preferred:
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools associated with welding.
