About the Role
As a Youth Development Day Camp Counselor, you will directly supervise a group of children, plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities, and maintain positive relations with children, parents, and staff. You will ensure safety and cleanliness standards, manage program records, and act as a role model by exemplifying the YMCA's core values. Participation in family nights, program activities, and staff training is also required.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with children in a day camp setting.
- Experience in outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, and recreational games.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities.
