Clermont County Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Specialist to join their team at the Miami Township Branch in Milford, OH. The role involves promoting literacy and creating engaging programs for young people.
About the Role
As a Youth Services Specialist, you will connect young people and their families to library resources, recommend books, lead storytimes, and create programs that encourage curiosity and learning. You will also build relationships with local schools and organizations, maintain youth materials collections, and occasionally supervise the branch in the absence of the manager.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required. Commensurate experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Experience in programming, education, libraries, or youth services settings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with literature for youth and popular trends.
- Comfortable using and teaching technology, including Microsoft Office, databases, and public PCs.
- Ability to multitask, think creatively, and adapt to varying public service environments.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., push book carts, and set up materials for programs and displays.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as scheduled.
