Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center is seeking a Youth Worker (Beacon 1) to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves working with children in grades K-8 to foster their social and intellectual development through various educational and recreational activities.
About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for supervising and engaging with a group of co-ed children, facilitating reading enrichment, project-based learning, and group games. You will work closely with the Group Leader and other staff to create a positive environment for the participants. Your duties will include maintaining safety, assisting in program delivery, and communicating with parents about their children's experiences.
About You
Required:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- At least one year of experience working with children in groups.
- High School Diploma/GED, some college preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Must pass Criminal Background Check including Fingerprint Screening and TB screening.
Preferred:
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- A sense of humor and a positive demeanor.
- Passion for youth development.
Benefits
- Hourly rate of $18.00.
- Seasonal position with approximately 17-20 hours per week.
