Summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a z/OS Developer and Support - Level III for their Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The role involves researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs, as well as testing and evaluating new programs.

About the Role

As a z/OS Developer and Support - Level III, you will be responsible for resolving software problems, responding to suggestions for improvements, and writing efficient code. You will work closely with other developers, UX designers, business, and systems analysts in a remote environment.

About You

Required:

Minimum of 10 years in mainframe development, including IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.
Experience with REXX and SAS scripting for automation and data manipulation.
Experience in mainframe application development and support.
Familiarity with mainframe communication tools such as CICS and MQ and mainframe security protocols, including RACF.

Preferred:

Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes.
Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka.
Prior experience with performance tuning on mainframe systems.
Experience in documenting mainframe operations and applications.
