Athelas is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Evals and AI Infra to join their team in Mountain View, CA. The role involves contributing to the development of Ambient AI solutions for healthcare, focusing on backend engineering and infrastructure scaling.
About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be part of the Ambient Scribe team, responsible for designing reliable and extendable eval and AI pipelines. You will work with a tech stack that includes Python, Flask, Django, and FastAPIs, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to enhance model interactions. Your role will also involve direct customer engagement to address their issues.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development industry experience.
Preferred:
- Strong Backend Programming Skills, particularly in Python.
- Experience in fast-paced environments where quick shipping is essential.
- Experience building AI applications, including designing evals and improving performance.
- Familiarity with evaluation methods for LLMs and multi-agent workflows.
- General understanding of Containers and Cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong leadership skills and a builder attitude.
