Summary
Sage Consulting Group is seeking a General Manager, Ocean Freight (NVOCC) to oversee their operations handling over 800 import containers from China monthly. This is a fully remote position with a focus on the China - US trade lane.
About the Role
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily NVOCC and ocean freight operations, including carrier bookings, rate negotiations, and import processes. You will handle customer communications, oversee billing and invoicing, and ensure compliance with FMC regulations. Additionally, you will lead a small team while being heavily involved in core operational tasks and developing new business opportunities.
About You
Required:
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in NVOCC / ocean freight forwarding.
- Must hold FMC QI status or be eligible to obtain it.
- Strong knowledge of US import procedures and requirements.
- Fluent in Mandarin and working professional fluency in English.
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
Preferred:
- Previous working experience with Chinese customers and logistics partners.
- Previous P&L responsibilities.
