KBR Careers is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to join their team in Dayton, OH. The role involves applying advanced engineering techniques to design electrical systems and components for heavy industrial facilities.
About the Role
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Designer, you will work independently to make decisions on engineering problems, provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers, and represent the organization in conferences. Your responsibilities will include preparing design and detail drawings for electrical systems, conducting electrical reviews of project packages, and reviewing project design estimates and work scopes.
About You
Required:
Minimum 5 to 10 years of applicable industry electrical design experience within the chemical and industrial industry.
Proficiency with 2D MicroStation or AutoCAD.
Experience in voltage drop calculations, wiring sizing and conduit fill calculations.
Experience in creating and modifying P&I diagrams, loop sheets, single lines, logics and electrical schematics.
Preferred:
Experience in working with and mentoring designers/team members.
Experience in specifying vendor instrument equipment and reading vendor manuals.
Have a working knowledge of the NEC Codes.
Experience in 24kV to 480-volt power distribution systems, lighting, schematic wiring diagrams, cable/raceway sizing, lightning protection and grounding.
