Perplexity is seeking an Android Mobile Engineer to join their team in New York City Metropolitan Area. The role involves building and expanding the Perplexity Android app, revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet.
About the Role
As an Android Mobile Engineer, you will develop a performant native Android app enjoyed by millions of users worldwide. You will work closely with product teams to implement novel mobile experiences, collaborate with design teams to create fast and intuitive UI, and work with data science and machine learning teams to improve the end-to-end experience.
About You
Required:
- 4+ years industry experience
- Expertise in Android Compose
- Expertise in Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
- Strong Android fundamentals and a proven track record of working with a modern Android stack built in Kotlin
- Enjoys the craft of building nice UI, creating a good UX, and writing code that can be reused by others
- Understands how to manage performance and speed
- Comfortable working with a small, fast-moving team, must be willing to dive in and take ownership
- A passion for shipping
Preferred:
- Interest in search and large language models
- Passion for delivering a great UX backed by a quality UI
