WD is seeking a Senior Engineer, Customer Quality Engineering to join their Product Insights team in Irvine, CA. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and communicating product performance data to enhance customer experience and product quality.
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer in the Product Insights team, you will analyze telemetry data and failure reports to identify quality issues, build dashboards for product health metrics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive root cause investigations and product improvements. You will also develop predictive models to flag emerging issues and enhance data workflows.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Several years of experience in data analysis, product analytics, or quality engineering, preferably in the storage industry.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar analytics tools.
Experience with BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for quick analysis.
Preferred:
Experience with telemetry systems, IoT data, or large-scale field data.
Knowledge of machine learning / predictive analytics techniques.
Familiarity with Western Digital products and customer segments.
Background in manufacturing quality or reliability engineering.
Fluency in Mandarin to support APAC teams.
