Summary
Zoox is seeking a Senior Team Lead, Vehicle Technicians (1st Shift) to join their team in Miami, FL. The role involves overseeing the operational backbone of Zoox's Base Operations function, ensuring the readiness and safety of their Robotaxi vehicle fleet.
About the Role
As the Senior Team Lead for Base Operations, you will manage the full team lifecycle, drive operational excellence, enforce safety standards, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will coach technicians, ensure operational readiness, and lead strategic scaling initiatives while partnering with cross-functional teams to align on execution with company objectives.
About You
Required:
- 8+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience.
- 4+ years of people leadership experience in technical, automotive, or high-volume service environments.
- Proven experience implementing and improving SOPs and operational processes in complex technical environments.
- Strong understanding of EH&S compliance and safety programs.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic methods, parts, and tools.
- High proficiency in CAN/LIN architecture, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles or a similar safety-critical industry.
- Experience in R&D, testing, or pre-production environments.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting scaling operations or fleet expansion initiatives.
- Strong understanding of EV architectures and high-voltage systems.
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair.
